Some Info 10/5/07

~~ The pack is having a Popcorn Show and Sell at the Shop Rite. The time that was assigned to us is Saturday October 13th from 12 pm to 4pm. Please have the boys there by 11:45 am. They do need to be in uniform. You are not required to stay but it would be helpful if you did. One den leader and 10 kids is a lot to handle!

~~Next den meeting is Thursday 10/18 at 7pm at our house. If anyone knows of a hall or church that would allow us to meet there twice a month, please let us know.

~~We are still in need of an American flag for the boys to learn how to fold. Let us know if you have one.

~~ There has been a recall of our Progress totems because of lead in the paint. Read about it here
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headline/metro/5189925.html
Fortunately the boys did not receive these last night. I will be holding on to them until Gary tells me what to do with them.

~~I have noticed that some of the boys do not have both of their badges. They need to have their Bobcat badge (1st one received) and Tiger Cub (2nd one). They cannot get a Wolf badge unless they have a Bobcat badge. Please let me know which one your boy is missing so Erich can work with them at the meetings to get it done. If you are new to Scouts this year, the only one you need to get is the Bobcat badge. If you look here, you can see a diagram of all 4 badges. The boys should have the Bobcat (the diamond at the 12 o’clock position) and the Tiger (the one at the 6 o’clock position) http://www.geocities.com/~pack215/cubinsignia.html

~~There is also a program with Cub Scouts to get Belt Loops and Pins. Here is a site that explains the program
http://www.boyscouttrail.com/cub-scouts/acad-sports.asp
and here is one that explains the requirements. http://www.derose.net/steve/guides/scouting/BeltLoopPinRequirements.html

Please email Erich or myself each month and let us know if your son has met the requirements for the loops or pins that month. (or tell us at a den meeting) Erich lets Gary know at the Leader meetings and then the boys are presented with them at the Pack Meetings each month. They are allowed to get more than one belt loop a month. If your son is eligible for any this month, let me know by this Monday so Erich can tell him at their meeting next week.

Thanks all! I am looking forward to getting to know all of you this year as our sons earn their Wolf Badges and their Arrow Points.

Welcome!

i have decided it would be much easier to have one place where the den can go and look for upcoming info. I am not very handy with making a website so blogger seemed to be the way to go! I will be posting info about upcoming events and meetings here along with Cub Scout websites. Please feel free to add anything you want. This is for all the kids!
